“The link of the American Revolution 1776 and corporate innovation”
Professor Kenneth English

Abstract
In today's world, innovation historically is very difficult for mature corporations to implement and sustain. I have taken a segment from my lectures given to my 2006 MBA classes in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. I have found that one can understand the algorithms of a system by looking at historical data which gives indicators to barriers and enablers. In the study of innovation and large corporations I stumbled on to the algorithms of the American Revolution that had direct correlation to efforts of mature corporations trying to do innovation within a well-managed structure. What I will show you in this talk is that in the time of the Revolutionary war in America the English Empire was at its height in power and influence just as mature Corporations have virtually total control with all its mechanisms for management. When putting in an organization to create innovation in a mature corporate setting the algorithms are the same as a colony trying to establish freedom and independence. The trauma and activity is just as pronounced and far-reaching in the corporate structure as with the American colonies. The fact that innovation can cover such a wide range of participants and technologies in search of opportunity the correlation of the Revolutionary war with so many countries and politics involved at the same time creates an interesting plethora of algorithms to analyze and correlate.
